The PNL MEP, Dan Motreanu, requested the European Commission to clarify the measures it will adopt to prevent favoritism towards large multinationals within the European Fund for Competitiveness (EFC). Motreanu emphasizes the importance of ensuring fair access for all member states and companies, especially for SMEs, to promote balanced industrial development across the entire European Union. The Vice-President of the European Commission, Stéphane Séjourné, responded that the EFC aims to support projects and enterprises, including SMEs, to create a competitive advantage in strategic sectors. Motreanu highlighted that the EFC will strengthen existing programs and provide advice and support for SMEs, especially in less developed regions, through the EU Network for Enterprises.
