British American Tobacco is to increase cigarette prices by 1 leu per pack, the fifth increase since 2023. JTI and Philip Morris have not yet implemented price hikes, but the market leader usually follows. Against the backdrop of the European economic crisis, the EU is forecast to impose a further increase in tobacco excise duties.
