Today, Bulgaria is finalizing the mandatory period during which traders were required to display prices both in leva and in euros.
This measure represents a significant step in the country's transition towards adopting the euro as its single currency. The decision to introduce prices in euros was made to facilitate Bulgaria's economic integration into the eurozone and to prepare the population for the transition to the European currency.
Although the coexistence period of the two currencies is coming to an end, the Bulgarian authorities continue to work on implementing the necessary reforms to meet the criteria for joining the eurozone. This stage is essential for the country's economic stability and for encouraging foreign investments.
