Antibiotice Iași has signed a financing contract of 374 million lei, of which 52% comes from European funds, to develop a research center and a production unit for critical medicines. The project, which will be implemented between November 2025 and November 2029, aims to produce 100 million vials per year, thus strengthening Romania's independence in the pharmaceutical field. The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, emphasized the importance of this project for the Romanian healthcare system and for the autonomy of the European Union. The INOVA research center will include modern laboratories for biosimilars, nanotechnologies, and genetics, aiming to develop innovations in critical medicines. This investment will reduce dependence on external suppliers and will support the healthcare system by creating a modern production infrastructure.
