Amazon has announced a significant investment in the Netherlands, considered the largest since its launch in 2020, aimed at supporting both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and retail operations. The local manager, Eva Faict, presented the investment plans at a conference in The Hague, which marked five years of the company's operations in the Netherlands.
Over 60% of the products sold on Amazon.nl come from selling partners, and Amazon provides not only a sales channel but also logistical solutions and marketing tools for Dutch entrepreneurs. Additionally, Amazon recently announced a 1 billion euro investment in Belgium to improve deliveries and services for local partners. Despite these investments, Amazon is not the market leader in Belgium and the Netherlands, with a turnover of 3.1 billion euros in 2024, with Bol remaining at the forefront.
