ALRO reported a significant loss in 2023, down from a profit of 331 million lei in 2022, due to falling demand and high energy prices.

Aluminum producer ALRO recorded a loss of 537.9 million lei in 2023, compared with a net profit of 331 million lei in 2022. The company reported a turnover of 2.85 billion lei, down 16% from the previous year, in line with the fall in international aluminum prices and the economic slowdown.
