The European Investment Bank (EIB) signed an agreement in Brussels on Monday under which Airbus will benefit from a record loan of three billion euros (3.4 billion dollars). This initial tranche of one billion euros is part of a financing aimed at helping Airbus strengthen its position as a leader in the civil and military aviation sector.
EIB President Nadia Calvino emphasized that this project was approved in a record time of six months, demonstrating Europe's ability to quickly support its companies in the current geopolitical context. The financing reflects Airbus's significant investment needs, which aim to maintain global competitiveness through the development of advanced technologies by 2030. This represents the largest financing operation for a company ever carried out by the EIB.
