Two Romanians were placed in preventive custody in Germany after they robbed a 77-year-old pensioner.

Two Romanians, aged 29 and 40, were arrested in Germany, accused of robbing a 77-year-old pensioner in the town of Bergkirchen, Bavaria. The incident occurred on Sunday when the victim, while walking his dog, was approached by the suspects who claimed they needed directions to a hospital.

At the moment the pensioner bent down to help them, one of the attackers snatched his watch from his wrist. After the robbery, the two tried to flee but were spotted by police on the A8 motorway.

Their escape ended with a traffic accident, and the authorities apprehended them. After receiving medical care for minor injuries, they were presented before a judge who issued preventive arrest warrants. The investigation continues to establish all the circumstances of the robbery and possible links to other similar crimes.
