A 19-year-old Romanian man died on Sunday while picking cherries in a field in Stagno Lombardo, Province of Cremona, Italy. On the day of the tragedy, the temperature reached 40 degrees Celsius, and the young man felt unwell.

His colleagues called 112, and he was urgently transported by helicopter to the hospital in Cremona, where, unfortunately, he died shortly after being admitted. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the incident, considering that the young man was working legally.

Investigators are considering several causes for the death, including heatstroke, stroke, or heart conditions. The local mayor and political leaders expressed their condolences, emphasizing the need to protect workers from extreme conditions.
