Three Romanian citizens are under the attention of the Italian justice system after a significant theft committed in November 2025 at a metal processing company in Carate Brianza, from where approximately 14 tons of copper disappeared. The Carabinieri have launched a comprehensive investigation, analyzing footage from surveillance cameras and gathering evidence against a 27-year-old man, another 53-year-old man, and a third person. The theft was carried out by forcing access doors and the shutters of the warehouses.
Additionally, investigations revealed an attempted theft related to the same group, which took place on December 10, when an 18-year-old Romanian young man was apprehended while patrolling the area in a vehicle. In his car, the police found burglary tools and clothing items to conceal his identity. Other accomplices managed to flee to nearby rural areas. The damage caused by the copper theft is considerable, which has led to an intensification of the investigation.
