In Brussels, an innovative museum, called the Museum of Migration and Heritage, was established under the guidance of Cristina Hurdubaia, a Romanian anthropological researcher. The project, inspired by a personal icon, explores Romanian migration, the largest migration phenomenon in Europe, and preserves the memories and cultural heritage of Romanian communities in the Diaspora. The museum functions as an interactive digital space, where the stories of migrants and symbolic objects are collected and interpreted. Cristina aims to expand the museum to other countries with large Romanian communities, such as Germany and Spain, and to create a cultural center in Brussels. The project also includes a research component, aimed at documenting and archiving the stories of migrants. Although she faces difficulties in promoting the museum and securing funding, Cristina remains dedicated to her mission of reconnecting Romanians with their cultural heritage and changing perceptions about the Romanian diaspora.
