The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) warns Romanian citizens who are in or intend to travel to France about a red alert issued by the French meteorological institute for rain, flooding, and strong winds, especially in the regions of Aude and Pyrénées-Orientales.
Storm NILS will bring strong winds and heavy precipitation, with snowfall in the Alpine area, increasing the risk of avalanches. The MAE emphasizes that these weather conditions may cause disruptions in road, rail, and air transport, as well as in electrical and water networks.
Romanian citizens are advised to avoid traveling to the affected areas, to stay informed about the weather conditions, and to follow the instructions of local authorities. The MAE provides contact information for consular assistance and recommends consulting official websites for updates.
