A 27-year-old Romanian is suspected of attempting to set fire to an auto body shop in Italy, after being fired.

A 27-year-old Romanian man is being investigated in Italy for attempted arson of an auto body shop in Camposanto, an incident that occurred on the night of October 18, 2025, shortly after he was fired. Authorities, including the carabinieri and firefighters, intervened at the scene, discovering damage to the electric motor of the car and the perimeter fence, as well as traces of flammable liquid, suggesting an intentional act. Surveillance footage and the victim's statements helped identify the suspect's vehicle near the location.

On November 19, 2025, a home search led to the seizure of clothing items that the young man allegedly wore at the time of the act. During the preventive hearing, he stated that he acted 'out of anger and frustration' after being fired. As a result, the carabinieri imposed a house arrest measure between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM, at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, which continues the investigation to clarify all circumstances of the incident.
