A traffic control carried out by the Pavia Road Police, as part of the Safe Christmas Operation 2025, resulted in a fine of 10,000 euros for a Romanian driver and the confiscation of his truck. The police discovered serious irregularities, including the use of a driver card that did not belong to the actual driver and an unapproved tachograph. Additionally, the vehicle was rented with an expired term, making it unsuitable for circulation on public roads. Furthermore, approximately 400 unmarked chicken eggs were found in the semi-trailer, without traceability documentation, stored under inappropriate conditions.
The Local Health Authority intervened, confiscating and destroying the eggs due to public health risks. The operation's outcome included an administrative fine of 9,695 EUR and a three-month suspension of the driver's license.
