A 64-year-old Romanian man died on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in a road accident in Cremona, in Italy’s Lombardy region. The motorcycle ridden by Mircea Vasilache collided with a truck on Via Bergamo, in the Migliaro area, at the intersection with Via dell’Aeroporto.
The accident occurred at around 4:45 p.m. According to initial information, the motorcyclist was leaving a side street when he collided with the truck traveling on the main road from Cremona. The impact was so violent that the man died at the scene. Medical crews dispatched under a red emergency code were unable to save his life.
Firefighters and Cremona traffic police responded at the scene. The 42-year-old truck driver was medically assessed and did not require hospitalization. His alcohol test was negative. Traffic was temporarily halted, while investigators took measurements to determine the causes and any potential liability.
Mircea Vasilache had lived in Italy since 1999 and was involved in the Romanian community in Cremona. For approximately three years, he had been a member of the Trăistuța APS Ensemble Association, where he served as an adviser and dancer. Representatives of the organization and Italian journalist Marco Urbani sent condolences to the family.
