A Romanian illegally in the USA was detained by ICE Boston for serious sexual offenses against minors.

On January 11, American immigration agents (ICE) in Boston arrested Ionuț Andrei Stamatin, a Romanian citizen illegally in the United States, accused of serious sexual offenses against minors. He faces charges for paying for sexual acts with a minor under 18, enticing a child under 16 for sexual purposes, and attempting to commit a crime. Stamatin will remain in the custody of American authorities during the judicial process and immigration proceedings.

His arrest comes in a tense context for the ICE agency, which has recently been involved in controversial incidents, including a case where an agent shot a Venezuelan man during an intervention. Additionally, another serious incident occurred in Minneapolis, where a woman was fatally shot by an ICE agent, generating protests and criticism from local authorities.
