At the international tourism fair FITUR in Madrid, the Secretary of State from the Ministry of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism (MEDAT), Laurențiu Gedei, invited Romanians from the diaspora to become ambassadors of Romanian tourism, promoting the history, culture, and gastronomy of the country.

The Romanian delegation carried out activities to strengthen bilateral tourism relations, having B2B meetings with event organizers and journalists. The Romanian stand was visited by the delegation of the Romanian Embassy, which discussed the role of the Romanian community in promoting tourism.

Additionally, activities with influencers were planned to increase Romania's visibility in the digital environment. Participation in FITUR included meetings with the World Tourism Organization and the presentation of the International Paella Competition, with Romania selected as the host of a semifinal.

The program also included demonstrations of folk art, highlighting Romanian cultural heritage. Alin Grigore, Deputy General Director of the General Directorate of Tourism, emphasized the importance of dialogue and leadership in promoting Romanian tourism.
