The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that the Romanian suffered serious injuries, especially to the legs, and his condition is considered 'very serious' by local press in Barcelona.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing, and the most plausible cause seems to be a mental breakdown of the driver, a 36-year-old man who had obtained his driving license for this category only a few days prior.
