Over 600,000 employees in Belgium will benefit from a 4.65% salary increase starting in January 2027, as a result of the automatic inflation-linked indexation mechanism. The increase mainly concerns employees covered by Joint Committee 200.

The calculation was carried out by Acerta’s human resources specialists, based on the latest data published by Statbel. Inflation reached 5.26% in October, while the smoothed health index, used as a benchmark for salary adjustments, currently stands at 101.72.

Salary indexations are also scheduled for January 2027 in other sectors, including the food industry, the hospitality sector, insurance, and property management and maintenance services. However, employees with gross salaries of over 4,000 euros could receive limited increases, in accordance with the new federal rules.

The adjustment in January will not necessarily be the last salary increase in 2027. The Federal Planning Bureau estimates that the pivot index—the threshold that automatically triggers new adjustments—could be exceeded again in April. Such a development could lead to another indexation for certain categories of employees.
