Four Romanians, aged between 34 and 47, were sentenced in Croatia for aggravated theft and violence against the police after an attempted break-in at a store. They were accused of injuring two police officers during their attempt to flee. In court, they cited financial difficulties and health issues, having a total of 20 children.
The harshest sentence, of 14 months, was initially given to a 40-year-old man, but it was reduced to 6 months suspended. The others received similar sentences, and the youngest, an entrepreneur, was sentenced to one year suspended. The incident occurred on April 3, 2025, when the thieves attempted to break into a store, managing to steal only two phones before being caught by the police. One of them managed to escape but was later apprehended.
