Four Romanians have been arrested for violent robberies in Germany, including attacks on former Formula 1 manager, Willi Weber.

Four Romanian citizens were arrested in Vaslui County, Romania, after committing several violent robberies in Germany, including an attack on former Formula 1 manager Willi Weber at his villa in Stuttgart. Investigators discovered that the Romanians operated in an organized manner, binding and threatening victims to obtain valuable goods. In all cases, the thieves broke in, surprising unprepared owners and causing them injuries. The total damage in the two robberies in Stuttgart is estimated at millions of euros.

The attack on Weber in December was followed by another similar robbery in September, targeting an elderly couple. Additionally, another incident in January involved a couple terrorized by thieves who stole jewelry worth hundreds of thousands of euros. The German police suspect that these suspects are also involved in a violent attack in Bavaria, where family members were bound and threatened with weapons.

The arrests were made with the help of Europol and the police from Germany, Romania, and France. The investigation continues to determine the extent of the criminal network and the connections between the robberies. The chief of police in Stuttgart emphasized the importance of stopping these violent attacks, and Willi Weber stated that, although he feels relieved, he does not feel completely safe. The suspects are set to be extradited to Germany, where European arrest warrants have been issued.
