A former Romanian nurse has been accused of sexual coercion and rape against several women in Switzerland. The prosecution is seeking a 13-year prison sentence.

A Romanian citizen, a former medical nurse, was tried at the cantonal court in Valais, Switzerland, for sexual coercion, attempted rape, and rape against several women. The prosecution requested an increased sentence of 13 years in prison, considering that the man had already been sentenced to 8 years of detention and 15 years of expulsion. The acts took place between 2015 and 2023, involving aggressive behavior towards six women, three of whom filed complaints for rape.

In the first instance, the defendant was found guilty of multiple sexual offenses and received a lifetime ban from working in professions with direct contact with patients. During the appeal, the man had a defiant attitude, refusing to acknowledge the facts and accusing the justice system of injustice. The prosecutor emphasized the seriousness of the acts and the lack of remorse, requesting the rejection of the appeal. The defense lawyers contested the evidence, but the court will decide soon, and indications suggest a harsher sentence than the initial one.
