In the city of Gateshead, England, five men have been convicted for the sexual exploitation of vulnerable girls aged between 13 and 15 years. They lured the victims with alcohol and cocaine, and the investigation uncovered multiple cases of rape. Following the investigations, the men were charged with 42 offenses, and a judge imposed prison sentences ranging from 18 months to 14 years.


Among the convicted is Bogdan Gugiuman, who received 14 years for rape and drug supply, and Codrin Dura, sentenced to 13 years for multiple offenses, including rape and blackmail. The investigations began in 2019, after complaints from two girls, and the police emphasized the importance of the victims' courage in bringing the offenders to justice.


Authorities encourage any victim of abuse to come forward to receive support.
