A woman was violently attacked by her former partner, a 37-year-old Romanian, at a farm in Austria.

A quarrel between two former partners turned into a violent attack on Friday at a horse farm in the Ried im Innkreis district of Austria. A 30-year-old Polish woman was stabbed twice in the back and once in the arm by her former partner, a 37-year-old Romanian, during a dispute.

The motive for the attack is believed to be jealousy, considering that their relationship had recently ended. Injured, the woman managed to flee a few hundred meters while being pursued by her attacker. The intervention of passersby who helped her take refuge in their car prevented an even greater tragedy.

The Romanian attempted to open the car door but was stopped by the driver, who managed to leave with the victim. The police arrested the attacker, who had a blood alcohol level of 2.2 per thousand. Although he initially admitted to the acts, he later stated that he does not remember exactly what happened.

The victim is hospitalized, and her children have been taken to Poland. The investigation continues, and prosecutors are treating the case as attempted murder.
