A young Romanian woman from Italy, missing for several days, has been found dead.

A 24-year-old Romanian young woman, Ștefania Halip, was found dead on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in the bed of a stream in Italy, after she disappeared on the night from Sunday to Monday. Her disappearance was reported by her family around 2:00 PM, after her parents noticed that she had not shown up to take her younger sister to summer camp.

The last location of her phone was around 4:00 AM, near a supermarket. Searches led to the discovery of her body in a wooded area, and the carabinieri and the coroner are now investigating the circumstances of her death.

Among the hypotheses being analyzed is a voluntary act, but the final conclusions will depend on the results of the forensic examinations. Ștefania was a Biology student and occasionally worked in a pizzeria, being described by those close to her as a good and calm person.
