A 26-year-old man from Galați was caught by the police on January 11, 2026, driving at an extremely high speed of 169 km/h on DN 25, in the locality of Umbrărești, where the limit was 50 km/h. This was the second offense in the last six months, and for his actions, he received a fine of 1,822.5 lei and his driving license was suspended for 150 days. Although he was sanctioned and issued a temporary document without the right to drive, the young man was caught driving again the next day. The police opened a criminal case for driving a vehicle without a license.
