Meteorologists issued a Yellow Code warning on Tuesday morning for intensifications of the wind, storms, hail, torrential downpours, and electrical discharges valid all day on May 12, until 10:00 PM, in Banat, Oltenia, Muntenia, Dobrogea, most of Transylvania and Moldova, and the mountainous area.
On Tuesday, temperature values will drop sharply in the west and northwest of the country, then also in the rest of the territory, so that the weather will become colder than usual for this period. In the mountains, in the crest area, there will be precipitation in the form of sleet and snow.
"In Banat, Oltenia, Muntenia, Dobrogea, most of Transylvania and Moldova, and in the mountainous area, the weather will be unstable. There will be intensifications of the wind, locally storms (gusts of 50...60 km/h and isolated 70...90 km/h), hail, and torrential downpours accompanied by electrical discharges. In short intervals of time (1...3 hours) or by accumulation, the amounts of water will be 15...20 l/m² and isolated 30...40 l/m²," shows the ANM statement.
Starting Tuesday evening, at 10:00 PM, a Yellow Code wind warning comes into effect until Wednesday at 10:00 AM, in Crișana, Banat, Oltenia, the west, center, and south of Muntenia, the south of Dobrogea, and the west of Transylvania, where the wind will have intensifications with gust speeds of 50...70 km/h and isolated 80 km/h.
