Yellow code for torrential rains and storms in Romania / Which regions are affected

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued two Yellow Code warnings for strong storms until Friday evening

The first Yellow Code warning is valid for the period of June 4, 10:00 AM – June 4, 11:00 PM, regarding atmospheric instability and significant rainfall in Oltenia, most of Muntenia, and the mountainous area.

Heavy rainfall, electrical discharges, wind intensifications with speeds of 50-70 km/h, and small to medium-sized hail are expected. Rainfall amounts will vary between 15-25 l/m², with isolated amounts exceeding 30-40 l/m², according to ANM.

Additionally, a yellow code will also be active on June 5, between 12:00 PM and 11:00 PM, for the northern Eastern Carpathians and the Apuseni Mountains, where similar phenomena will occur.

Atmospheric instability will also affect other mountainous areas and the southeast of the country.
