Microsoft will no longer provide security updates for Windows 10 starting October 14, 2025, leaving millions of users vulnerable to cyber attacks. Although Windows 10 will continue to function, the lack of support will increase the risks of viruses and data theft. Users are encouraged to upgrade to Windows 11, which offers enhanced security. Those who cannot upgrade have options such as extended security subscriptions or alternatives like Linux or ChromeOS Flex. Purchasing a new PC with Windows 11 is also an option.
