At the end of January, lower than normal temperatures are expected in the central, northeastern regions and in the northwestern and southwestern extremes of the country. In contrast, the beginning of February will be marked by higher thermal values, with frequent precipitation, especially in the southern and extra-Carpathian areas. The rainfall regime will be deficient in the western, northern, central, and southwestern regions, but will be excessive in the southeastern extremity. Additionally, average temperatures will be slightly higher in most of the country, especially in the mountainous areas, and the amounts of precipitation will generally be close to normal, with a slightly excessive tendency in the extra-Carpathian regions.
