The Sanitas Federation of Romania has announced a 2-hour warning strike, scheduled for today, between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM, in response to the new salary law which, according to union members, perpetuates salary inequalities between different professional categories in the public health system. Additionally, a general strike is planned for July 28.
Sanitas emphasizes that, during the strike, it will ensure the continuity of medical assistance for patients. Union members accuse the Bolojan Government of lacking authentic social dialogue and promoting a law that does not reflect the realities of the health system. Iulian Pope, the president of Sanitas, stated that the current law will lead to salary losses for many employees, and bonuses, considered compensatory rights, are significantly reduced. It is also estimated that over 30% of employees will no longer benefit from bonuses, which will create discrimination.
