The Bucharest City Hall has issued a warning regarding false QR codes found on some parking meters in the Capital.

These codes, identified in the Unirii area, are stuck on parking meters and lead to a fake page that imitates the official interface. Accessing them may compromise users' banking data, without actually processing the parking payment.

The authorities have initiated actions to identify and sanction the responsible individuals and to remove the fraudulent stickers.

The City Hall recommends citizens not to scan the QR codes on parking meters and to use only official payment methods, such as mobile applications and online platforms.

It is also reiterated that there are no longer authorized cashiers for parking fees, as the Municipal Parking Company of Bucharest has discontinued them.
