Salvamont Brașov warns tourists to avoid traveling on the northern valleys of the Făgăraș Mountains, especially on the Sâmbetei Valley, Viștea Mare Valley, and Arpașu Mare Valley, due to recent heavy rains that have led to a significant increase in water flow.
Sebastian Marinescu, the head of Salvamont Brașov, warned about dangerous conditions on the ground, with a high risk of flash floods, difficult crossings, and erosion caused by water. Tourists choosing to go to Sâmbetei Valley are advised to only travel on marked tourist trails and to avoid the forest road, which has been affected by the high water flow. Additionally, rescuers recommend careful planning of mountain trips and monitoring of weather conditions to ensure safety.
