PHOTO Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in Bucharest for the B9 Summit and the Nordic Countries Summit

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, arrived in Bucharest on Wednesday together with his wife, Olena, for the B9 Summit and the Nordic Countries Summit. The Ukrainian president expressed hope that he would be able to "mobilize additional resources for defense and expand the 'Drone Deals' format."

"I have arrived in Romania together with the First Lady. Today, the Bucharest 9 Summit is taking place here, with the participation of Nordic countries. Important meetings are planned on the sidelines of the summit. We all around the world need common decisions and common work so that everyone can have more security. We will mobilize additional resources for our defense and we will expand the Drone Deals format," wrote Volodymyr Zelensky on X.

Olena Zelenska will meet with the partner of President Nicușor Dan, Mirabela Grădinaru.

Romania is hosting the B9 Summit for the fourth time - after the inaugural edition in 2015, the hybrid format in 2021, and the one in 2022 - thus strengthening its status as a central actor in the security architecture of the Eastern Flank.

Zelensky is in Bucharest while Russia has launched a massive daytime drone attack on Ukraine.

"In the first wave of the attack, the aggressor is using a significant number of attack drones to overload Ukraine's air defense system and hit civilian targets," reports the Ukrainian Military Intelligence Agency.
