Vladimir Plahotniuc, former leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova, was detained in Greece with 11 passports issued under false identities, as well as driving licenses and identity cards from different countries. Greek authorities discovered the documents after searching his villa where he was hiding. Plahotniuc denies the accusations, saying he is the victim of a political frame-up. He was wanted internationally by Interpol after fleeing Moldova in 2019.
