On Sunday afternoon, Sighetu Marmației was hit by a violent storm that brought 45 l/mp rainfall in just 45 minutes, causing flooding and damage to households. The city's sewers could not cope with the water, flooding nine basements and five yards. Firefighters intervened to evacuate the water, while local crews are working to clear downed trees and clear the streets of silt. There were no casualties.
