Meteorologists have issued a Yellow Code warning for storms, hail, and strong winds in 18 localities in Moldova

On Friday, September 18, meteorologists issued a Yellow Code warning for immediately expected severe weather in localities in Botoșani, Suceava and Iași counties. The warning is valid from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. due to the risk of torrential showers, thunderstorms, strong wind gusts and hail.

During the announced period, rainfall amounts of 15–25 liters per square meter, wind speeds of 50–70 kilometers per hour and small hailstones measuring 1–2 centimeters in diameter are forecast.

In Botoșani County, the warning covers the localities of Flămânzi, Vorona, Frumușica, Tudora, Cristești and Prăjeni. In Suceava, it covers the municipality of Dolhasca and the localities of Liteni and Dolhești. In Iași County, the alert applies to Hârlău, Deleni, Scobinți, Lespezi and Sirețel.

The immediate severe weather warning refers to weather phenomena that may occur over a short period and temporarily affect traffic, outdoor activities and power grids.
