Strong fire in a building in Bucharest / Dozens of residents self-evacuated before the firefighters

A fire broke out in an apartment located on the 10th floor of a building on Odobești Street, in Sector 3 of the Capital. Upon the arrival of the fire crews, the flames were manifesting violently, and dense smoke was coming out of the apartment.

The Bucharest-Ilfov Emergency Situations Inspectorate announced that the fire is contained, without reporting any victims up to that moment. Six fire-fighting vehicles with water and foam, one intervention and rescue vehicle from heights, one rescue vehicle, the Special Rescue Detachment, and two SMURD teams were mobilized for the intervention.

The firefighters formed search and rescue teams to check the apartments and the interior spaces of the building. By the time the crews arrived, 45 people had self-evacuated.

ISU representatives confirmed that no victims have been identified so far.
