Victor Negrescu has sent a letter to European Commissioner Hadja Lahbib, asking for immediate support to manage the crisis at the flood-hit Praid salt works. He asked for an assessment of structural stability, technical support for water evacuation and EU funding to restore the infrastructure. Negrescu underlined the importance of the Praid Saltworks as a national symbol and economic resource, calling for European solidarity to help the affected communities. Romanian President Nicușor Dan visited the area and said that a full assessment will take several months.
