The firefighters from Deva and Orăștie have been mobilized to extinguish a wildfire that is spreading over 20 hectares in the high area of the communes of Bunila and Lunca Cernii. At the scene, 25 military firefighters, 7 workers from the forestry departments, and a mountain rescuer from SALVAMONT Hunedoara are intervening.

The mission is considered 'very difficult' due to the strong winds, with gusts of up to 90 km/h, which can spread the fire to the forest area. The firefighters have sent five intervention vehicles and have reinforced the forces with a high-capacity vehicle. So far, 20 hectares have burned, and the intervention continues over an area of 5 hectares. In Hunedoara County, meteorologists have issued Yellow and Orange Code warnings for the intensification of the wind. Additionally, the wind has caused incidents in Deva, where construction elements have detached and a tree has fallen on the railway, affecting train traffic. The firefighters continue to intervene to remedy the situation.
