USR accused an attempt at manipulation through a false photograph of Oana Țoiu, generated by artificial intelligence.

The Save Romania Union (USR) denounced on Facebook an attempt at manipulation targeting the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Ţoiu, through a false image generated with the help of artificial intelligence. The photograph, which depicted Oana Ţoiu in a red dress, was shared on the accounts of some 'Russophile' users and generated negative comments from internet users. USR emphasized that this is a manipulation intended to discredit the minister, in the context where the real image shows Oana Ţoiu at the NATO summit in The Hague, discussing defense and combating hybrid attacks.

The party highlighted that Oana Ţoiu recently promoted a legislative initiative against the indirect financing of Russia, which could explain the attacks against her. USR classified the incident as an example of political manipulation and urged citizens to be more attentive to the information shared online.
