Defense Minister Angel Tîlvăr underlined the importance of the US military presence in Romania for the security of NATO's Eastern Flank and bilateral cooperation.

During a meeting with US Embassy Charge d'Affaires Michael Dickerson, Minister of National Defense Angel Tîlvăr said that the American military presence is crucial to deter threats and defend common values. The talks focused on defense cooperation and the strengthening of the strategic partnership with the US, underlining Romania's role in Euro-Atlantic security. Tîlvăr reiterated the need to increase defense budgets in preparation for the NATO Summit in June, and reaffirmed Romania's commitment to NATO's objectives.
