The US Embassy has announced that as of September 2, 2025, citizens who have had a B1/B2 visa expire within the last 12 months can apply for a new visa by courier, without an interview, provided they meet certain criteria. These include submitting the application within 12 months of the expiry of the previous visa, being at least 18 years of age when the previous visa was issued, the application being submitted in the country of citizenship or residence, and no previous refusals. However, officials emphasize that regardless of whether these conditions are met, members of the Consular Service may request an interview if they deem it necessary.
