The unemployment rate in Romania reached 5.8% in May 2025, up 0.1% since April. The estimated number of unemployed is 470,500, with a rate of 24.8% among young people (aged 15-24). Men have an unemployment rate of 5.9% and women 5.6%. Adults (aged 25-74) account for 74.1% of the total unemployed, with a rate of 4.6% for this category.
