Uber Eats will resume delivery services in Romania, after withdrawing from this market in 2020, and will expand operations in the Czech Republic, Greece, Austria, Denmark, Finland, and Norway. This expansion is part of Uber's strategy to intensify competition in the European food delivery market, valued at billions of euros, and is expected to generate additional gross revenues of approximately one billion dollars in the next three years. In Romania, the food delivery market has matured, already having major players such as Wolt, Bolt Food, Glovo, and Bringo. The return of Uber Eats could lead to more competitive prices and improved services for consumers. Susan Anderson, Uber's global head of delivery, emphasized that it is time to offer better value in this sector. The decision to expand comes after the acquisition of the delivery division of the Turkish company Getir, thus strengthening Uber's position in the European market.
