Tulcea Airport is facing a passenger crisis, with only 100 passengers in 2025, but it continues to hire staff. Recently, 180 million lei have been invested in modernizations, and the management has put new posts out to tender. Stoian Vâlcu, the airport's director, with a monthly income of over 10,000 lei, was appointed without experience in the field, and the airport was subsidized with 3.7 million lei in 2022.
