Trump also criticized the Chagos agreement, through which Britain ceded ownership of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius, stating that they should have fought to maintain control over the territory. In the context of attacks on Iran, Trump highlighted its responsibility for the violence in the region and suggested that Starmer should have allowed the use of Diego Garcia for security reasons.
