Ion Sterian, the general director of Transgaz, had a meeting with the mayors from the Codru Country, Maramureș County, at the invitation of the president of the County Council, Gabriel-Valer Zetea. The purpose of the meeting was to monitor the status of the company's investments in natural gas transport infrastructure. Transgaz, state-controlled, is responsible for transporting 90% of the gas consumed in Romania. County officials emphasized the importance of increasing the connection rate to the gas network and the necessity of obtaining funding. Sterian highlighted the investment of 14 million lei in the Ulmeni - Ariniș - Băsești pipeline, which will supply 7,168 residents and will contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, the positive impact of this investment on the local economy and quality of life was discussed. Mircea Man, the secretary of ANRE, confirmed the efficient management of the gas network in the county.
