Transelectrica has announced the cancellation of scheduled withdrawals from the operation of installations, in order to ensure the maximum capacity operation of the electricity transport infrastructure.

The measure was taken following the Red Code meteorological warnings for heat waves and forecasts indicating a maximum electricity consumption of approximately 8,000 MW during peak evening hours. The company has implemented preventive measures to maintain the safety of the National Electroenergetic System (SEN), including a meeting of the Energy Command to analyze consumption and the availability of production capacities.

Additionally, monitoring and intervention measures have been strengthened to manage potential incidents.

Furthermore, Transelectrica has put into operation 1,500 MW in new power plants and storage facilities, and another 1,000 MW are ready for connection, thus contributing to increasing the flexibility of the system under high consumption conditions.
