A freight train hit a tank loaded with diesel in Giurgiu County, causing fuel leaks. Firefighters are responding on site.

A freight train hit a tanker loaded with diesel on Friday in Giurgiu County, causing fuel spills on the railway embankment and in the field. The incident involved a locomotive and three wagons, all loaded with diesel. Firefighters from the Giurgiu Detachment, police crews, as well as representatives from the Environmental Guard and the Bucharest Regional Railway Branch were dispatched to the scene.

As a result of the collision, the locomotive and the tanker were damaged, but the train's wagons were not harmed. The tanker driver and the locomotive engineer were monitored by the County Ambulance Service crew. Firefighters are ensuring fire prevention measures, and the diesel will be transferred to another tanker to avoid additional risks.
